We’ve tried a lot of tire dressings, but CarPro DarkSide has really set a new standard. This isn’t your average glossy coating – it’s a silicone-based formula featuring 60% polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), which gives it incredible hydrophobic and UV-resistant properties. Right off the bat, we noticed how well this product repels water and grime. Even after driving through rain and mud, your tyres will still look black, clean, and shiny, thanks to the hydrophobic PDMS layer that prevents buildup.

The high molecular weight of the silicone polymers in DarkSide allows it to bond strongly to the rubber, so it stays put – no greasy “sling”. It dries quickly and has a really sleek, satin finish. Plus, this tyre dressing doesn’t feel sticky or oily to the touch once it dries, which is a big bonus. Because of this dry, low-surface-energy finish, it actually repels dust and dirt, keeping my tires cleaner for longer.

Another big plus is the UV protection. DarkSide’s formula shields the rubber from the effects of ultraviolet radiation(one of the biggest causes of fading and cracking over time). Since UV exposure breaks down the molecular bonds in rubber, DarkSide really helps slow that process down, extending the lifespan of your tires.

In terms of durability, DarkSide really holds up. We got a good few weeks of high gloss with just one application, even in mixed weather conditions. And for those who don’t want a super high gloss, it’s easy to adjust by applying less product or buffing with a microfiber towel.

From a user experience perspective, the application is also really easy. The formula spreads smoothly and evenly, so you don’t have to worry about streaks or patches. We noticed that you can adjust the gloss level by applying an extra coat or two, which is a nice touch if you want a shinier look. We would recommend putting a little extra effort in to the prep if you looking to get the maximum durability from Darkside by using a good quality tyre and rubber cleaner (such as CarPro ReTyre) to remove any left over previous dressings, this will allow Darkside to penetrate in to the surface of the tyre giving more durability

How To Use

1. Prep the Surface: Clean tires thoroughly using CarPro ReTyre or another suitable tire cleaner to remove dirt and grime. Dry the tires completely for best results.
