We Say

Gyeon Q² Trim EVO is a state of the art quartz coating for the multitude of plastics found on the exterior of modern cars, including textured mouldings and trims, smooth headlight clusters and high gloss inlays and coverings. In addition to siloxane polymers, Gyeon Q² Trim also contains elastic bonding agents and UV inhibitors. Together, these components produce a highly flexible coating that offers excellent protection against the elements. Like most of the coatings in the Gyeon range, Gyeon Q² Trim contains no alcohol and doesn't flash off quickly as it is applied. This gives it a long working time, which makes it easy to work with, particularly on honeycomb grills and other fiddly-shaped trims. On brand new cars, Gyeon Q² Trim makes little noticeable difference to the look of treated plastics; rather, it simply ensures that they will remain in perfect condition for many months and years to come. However, on older cars, and in particular those whose trims are showing signs of age, Gyeon Q² Trim imparts a strong restorative effect, returning faded trims to their original colour, and adding a subtle sheen that makes them look like new. This versatility makes Gyeon Q² Trim a valuable product to have in your arsenal. We have been using it on our cars for several years, and rate it very highly indeed.

Description

Gyeon Q² Trim EVO is a quartz coating specifically formulated to protect plastic trims against UV radiation and oxidation for upwards of twelve months at a time. Developed in South Korea, Gyeon Q² Trim uses the latest in low volatile content silicon (Si) technology to lay down a film of siloxane polymers and elastic bonding agents that condenses rapidly to form a highly flexible SiO2 coating that bonds to plastic surfaces at the molecular level. Unlike many rival products, Gyeon Q² Trim contains no alcohol and therefore doesn't flash off rapidly, which makes it easy to apply. Thanks to its unique formula, it immediately restores the colour of faded trims and masks other signs of age, while imparting a low-key satin-looking finish that doesn't run or streak when it gets wet. As a result of being coated with a highly flexible layer of SiO2, treated trims become hydrophobic (water-hating), which causes rainfall and rinse water to bead up and roll off very quickly. This beading not only looks good, but also tends to pick up and carry away fresh contaminants, which ensures that treated trims stay cleaner looking for longer. Gyeon Q² Trim is currently supplied as a pre-packed kit containing a 30 ml bottle of Gyeon Q² Trim, a Gyeon Q²M Applicator Block, four Gyeon Q²M Applicator Suedes and an instruction booklet.

How To Use

You should apply Gyeon Q² Trim EVO in a dry place out of direct sunlight. In all cases, prepare the trims you are going to treat in the normal way (wash > decontaminate), and then do a wipe down with Gyeon Q²M Prep to ensure that they are spotlessly clean. Next, using the supplied dropping pipette, lightly wet one of the supplied Gyeon Q²M Applicator Suedes with Gyeon Q² Trim, wrap it around the supplied Gyeon Q²M Applicator Block and begin wiping it evenly on to the trims, using light pressure and overlapping strokes. You should be able to treat all of the trims on the car in one go, because Gyeon Q² Trim stays wet for 5-10 minutes following application. Once all of the trims are treated, go back around the car buffing them off gently with a PB Super Buffing Towel, in order to remove any excess product and even out the finish before the coating dries fully. The car must then be left somewhere warm and dry for a minimum of 12 hours to allow the coating to cure fully (if you wish, you can accelerate this process by heating the treated trims to 60°C for 10 minutes using an infra-red heat lamp). Please note that you must discard all used applicators and towels, because Gyeon Q² Trim hardens as it cures, forming a residue that has the potential to inflict severe marring or worse if applicators and towels are re-used. Furthermore, after each use you must also replace the dropping pipette with the air-tight cap, and then wash out the pipette with hot water. Failure to follow these steps will result in any leftover product setting solid in the bottle and the pipette, rendering them unusable in the future.
